Glastonbury Festival 2009 - Worthy Farm, Pilton, Wednesday 24th-Sunday 28th June

The Hub

The centre of Shangri-La and home of the Administration is the HUB, the remnants of the past glory-days of this metro-futuristic citadel. By day it’s a central gathering place and entertainment area, by night it is projection mapped to create a giant augmented sculpture and performer-enhanced laser shows create out-of-this-world extravaganzas of light.

Unfortunately, the Administration feels the need to interrupt the show every hour on the hour, to show the official News Broadcast.  These 60sec propaganda bursts give news updates, interviews with citizens, sanctioned entertainment updates  ("Tonight at midnight, DO NOT MISS the ten-breasted pleasure beast, greasy and ready for you in DADA) and serves to counter rumors of unauthorized rebel activity.

An official information centre is located in the HUB, but the people giving the information seem to drift in and out of reality, there is info everywhere, but none of it means anything. Stretcher bearers are make occasional forays to collect gone-on pleasure-seekers and take them to the secret field hospital where they are either given a nice cup of tea, or processed into mince.

Your Daytime Entertainment in the HUB:

The Trans Siberina March Band ( Russia), Le Fanfare Petard ( France) , Orkestra Del Sol, Masters Of The Kazooniverse,  Dj Russ Jones, Jason Mayal and many more.  Stoke Newington International Airport provides the citizens, a wildly dynamic group of artists, musicians, thinkers, welders and architects capable of almost anything.  Circus Performers include Big Beat Percussion, Chinese Pole, Wall Runners, Tightwire acts, Witch Doctors and more.
