This year, the Pussy Parlure line-up has some of the cream of up-and-coming acts, delivering an array of talent. This is the place to discover the hottest new acts around!

Thursday is our warm-up night with exciting international acts landing in Glastonbury to get you ready for the weekend including an opening night performance from Labess, who mixes gypsy rumba, flamenco and traditional North-Africa music rhythms to create his beautiful sound. Also performing on Thursday are Yuna, who’s latest album was hailed as one of the best R&B albums of 2016 by Rolling Stone and Txarango – a band born in the Raval district of Barcelona and a remarkable representative of the “Barcelona Sound”.

Friday features Dark Sky with their percussion-driven, soul laced music; the extremely talented singer Coely with irresistible soul, R&B, sick beats, a ton of street cred and attitude; Strong Asian Mothers who have been making waves on the capital’s underground gig scene for a while with their blend of styles and emphatic live show and R&B Performer/Producer from Detroit, JMSN. Bringing the hip hop, funk and disco party vibes later in the evening are Bristol favorites Feel The Real, with the day hosted by Boca 45’.

Saturday Pussy Parlure welcomes an inspiring selection of new and emerging acts from across the globe. Many of these artists are using their musical expression to protest against the current social and political climate, responding to the racial divisions, inequality, anger and disillusionment they sense around them. Through their reactive style and conscious lyrics, these acts inspire us to listen and engage us with music as a power for change.

Saturday acts include Princess Nokia, the barrier-breaking Afro-Latin goddess from Spanish Harlem and one of the fiercest rappers in the game today; Akua Naru, hip-hop’s spectacular global, poetic, intellectual, spiritual and political female balance; XamVolo with a messy mind over raw, dark jazz grooves; a performance from British Singer / Songwriter RAYE; queer punk realness from compelling rapper Mykki Blanco and BBC Music Sound of 2017 winner Ray BLK.

The second of our Emerging Talent runners-up Flohio will take to the Pussy Parlure stage on Saturday with a raw, punchy and poetic performance, think jaw-dropping grime fused with the confident strut of early M.I.A.

Sunday in Pussy Parlure continues with global talent including the electronic, synthpop band from Seoul Peterpan Complex, youthful Tel Aviv quintet Bones Garage, Copenhagen-based (Norwegian born) producer duo Smerz with carefully shaped, deconstructed electronic pop, the Brass Rave Unit reminding everybody that live music with real instruments are still the best ingredients for an all-out party and innovative hip-hop/soul/jazz influenced artist Pink Occulus.
