Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza 2016 date confirmed + vouchers available

December 4, 2015

We’re pleased to confirm that the Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza 2016 will be held on Saturday, August 6.

The 2016 spectacular complete with traditional firework display will be the 20th Extravaganza to be held in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

Last year Ray Davies, who was the lead vocalist and songwriter for The Kinks, rocked the abbey with support from The Shires and The Drystones. Previous headliners have included Robert Plant, Bryan Ferry, Status Quo, Madness, Van Morrison and Jools Holland.

Gift vouchers for the 2016 event can be bought now from the abbey shop or online at www.glastonburyabbey.com/extravaganza. Advance prices are staying the same as 2015 with adults £35 and £20 for a child aged six to 16. On the gate prices will be £40 adult and £25 for a child. Accompanied children aged five and under do not require a ticket. Booking and postage fees apply.

Says Michael Eavis: “We thought we’d make it slightly easier for you to choose a Christmas present for your friends this year by offering a voucher for next year’s Extravaganza. This is our 20th anniversary so expect something really special next year!”

Janet Bell, director of the abbey, says: “The Extravaganza is a highlight of the year for many people and we look forward to hearing who will be playing in 2016; the vouchers will make a great gift for Christmas.”

The acts and more details about the event itself will be announced in the New Year.
