Glastonbury Festival 2010 Guide for Deaf & Disabled Festival Goers

If you were successful in buying a ticket for the 2010 Festival then please read the following details on how to access the deaf & disabled facilities onsite.

Please Note
The disabled facilities and PA scheme are not open to people with temporary injuries or conditions.

Using the Disabled Facilities
If you would like to use any of the disabled facilities onsite you will need to request the disabled access pack. The pack tells you what facilities there are and includes a registration form. We cannot offer access to the disabled facilities if you have not pre-registered with us.

Personal Assistant Ticket Scheme
In our commitment to make the Festival accessible to everyone, we may provide those disabled ticket holders that require full time assistance with a free ticket for a partner, accompanying friend or personal assistant (PA). You will need to fill in the PA application form and provide a copy of your most recent DLA letter showing your current entitlement. Your PA does not need to be registered with us.
To get either of the above packs please contact us by email or phone. The packs can either be sent by email or post and are available in large print format if required.

Site Layout and Ground Conditions

The Festival is spread over a 1,200 acre green field site and dairy farm. There are some stone paths and metal trackway is used but the site can be very difficult to traverse. The weather can have a massive impact on how easy it is for people to move around the site, please take this into consideration when deciding on what equipment to bring with you.

Campsite
There is a disabled campsite located onsite. It is run by an experienced team who will be on hand to assist you throughout your stay with us. Due to the increasing number of applicants we do ask that each disabled customer has a maximum of 3 others camping with them. If you wish to camp in a larger group, you are of course free to do so in any of the public campsites.

Bringing Campervans into Disabled Camping

We do have some spaces in the campsite for campervans or caravans. These are for those people that would be unable to attend the Festival if made to camp and require the use of the disabled facilities within the campsite.

You do not need to buy a campervan ticket for one of these spaces. Further details on how to apply for a space are included in the info pack.

If you require a campervan/caravan but do not require the additional facilities within the disabled campsite then we do ask that you use the designated campervan fields instead.

Toilets
There are adapted toilets at locations throughout the Festival site.

Viewing Platforms
There are viewing platforms at the Pyramid, Other, Acoustic, Jazz World, John Peel and Dance East Stages. These platforms are solely for the use of disabled festival goers plus one carer/friend. Every platform has a team of stewards ready to assist people where needed. The access ramps will be in accordance with disability regulations.

British Sign Language Interpreters
This year there will be a team of BSL Interpreters onsite offering their services. More information on this service will be available closer to the festival.
