Emily’s Top Ten (non-headliner) Musical Tips

June 21, 2009

We asked Festival organiser Emily Eavis to give us her Top Ten musical tips for this year’s Festival. And here they are…

There is such a wealth of amazing talent and great acts here, this isn’t so much my ten “best’, more likely the ten bands that I will try hardest not to miss (excluding headliners)!

1) First is the amazing Emiliana Torrini, if you haven’t seen her live it really is worth venturing up to The Park for this one. She has such a beautiful voice and when she opens her mouth, it will move the field sideways..
Park Stage, Friday

2) Dizzee Rascal has been here a couple of times before, but never on the Pyramid and never since ‘Bonkers’. Say no more.
Pyramid Stage, Saturday

3) Lily Allen – her homecoming!
Pyramid Stage, Friday

4) Eagles Of Death Metal – doesn’t get better than this sleazy rock ‘n roll and expect some late night surprises from this lot too..
Pyramid Stage, Saturday

5) Spinal Tap, this is their only festival appearance and will be one hell of a way to kick off Saturday afternoon, turn it up to 11!
Pyramid Stage, Saturday

6) Chrome Hoof at Trash City – spectacular live show in the most incredible setting, not to be missed.
Drag Strip, Trash City, Sunday

7) Babba Maal – one of our very favourites, he is such a wonder and if you haven’t seen him before, go along and be inspired… If you have, then you’ll no doubt be going anyway!
Jazz World Stage, Saturday

8) Jamie T – one of our great British songwriters..always expect a top live show from this man.
John Peel Stage, Friday

9) Easy Star Allstars – Radiodread, Dub side Of The Moon and Sgnt Peppers Lonely Hearts Dub Band – expect a different set from these guys, each stage they play!
East Dance, Friday
Park Stage, Saturday
Pyramid Stage, Sunday

10) The Low Anthem are making their debut appearance here and if their records are anything to go by, it should be something truly special.
Queen’s Head Stage, Friday
The Park, Saturday
