The performance by Roberto Pla’s Latin Ensemble at Glastonbury 2013 has been voted into the finals of the Latin UK Awards (LUKAS), in the “Concert of the Year” category. Percussion maestro Roberto headlined the Friday night in the Glasto Latino area, with a specially assembled 20-piece band of some of the finest Latin musicians in the UK. Everybody in the packed venue, from seasoned salsa dancers to Latin music newbies, was dancing their socks off into the small hours.

The winner is chosen 50% by public online voting – if you’d like Roberto to win, then click here and vote!

Says Glasto Latino area organiser Alister Sieghart: “It was a terrific show – Roberto is the godfather of Latin music in the UK, and he really pulled out the stops for Glastonbury, bringing a special big band, and a set of showcase numbers that really brought out the best in all of them, them, both individually and together. Plus you couldn’t stop dancing – a real highlight!”
