Two Glastonbury-related exhibitions

April 20, 2010

We wanted to let you know about a couple of Glastonbury Festival-related photography exhibitions which have recently opened in London. Neither is officially affiliated to the Festival, but both sound worth a look.

Venetia Dearden’s book Another Stage (2010) celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the Glastonbury festival, and her fifth consecutive year of shooting in a studio on site. Glastonbury: 40 Years
by Liam Bailey
theprintspace gallery, 74 Kingsland Road, London
16 April – 4th May 2010

Free entry
Liam Bailey has been a regular at Glastonbury since the early 1990s. Starting out in the mosh pits, taking pictures of bands, he then became increasingly interested in the more spontaneous side of the Festival, in the spaces beyond the drama of the stages. Documenting the day-to-day life of a makeshift city, Bailey’s images show a world in which intense experiences are played out. More info

Don’t forget, we also have our own virtual Glastonbury photography gallery, right here on the official site – click to check it out.
