Wednesday crowds update

Good morning and welcome to the first day of Glastonbury 2025! 

Wednesday is very much the day for getting through the gates, setting up camp and settling in. 

With most of the stages not yet open, lots of people will be out on site having a wander. As always, if you do come across a busier crowd and you’d prefer some space, your best bet is to turn around and head for somewhere a bit quieter (the areas in front of the main outdoor stages – Pyramid, Other, West Holts and The Park – will have plenty of open green space today and tomorrow). 

Tonight, see the two Opening Ceremonies in the Pyramid arena and the Green Fields. Both ceremonies begin at 10pm and are followed by fireworks viewable from both areas at 10.45pm. Both are likely to be popular – but if you’d prefer a bit more space, then head for the Pyramid show, The Dreamweaver’s Journey, which promises to be a breathtaking theatre & circus performance.

You’re not just watching – you’re part of the performance! As our Dreamweaver digital cyclist appears on the big screens, tune in and hum along. Pick any note and hold it as they cruise the road. Uphill? Take your pitch higher. Downhill? Glide your pitch lower. Need to breathe? Go for it – this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Watch closely: If the Dreamweaver cyclist gets bigger, raise your voice! If they shrink in the distance, soften your sound. And don’t worry about matching the person next to you – the more variety, the better! We want a beautiful chaos of sound that moves with the action.

At key points, join in with iconic hooks you know and love. Just follow the cues from our Dreamweaver digital cyclist on the big screens, they’ll guide you when to jump in and when to stop.

The energy will be electric when we all hit those moments together. We expect you to let go, lean in, and let your voice ride the road.
