Michael and Emily were on site bright and early to launch WaterAid’s colourful Glastonbury water kiosks which will provide free drinking water for Festival goers. There will be seven water kiosks across the site where people can refill reusable water bottles, which we hope will reduce the amount of plastic water bottles being used during the Festival. Festival goers can also fill their bottles for free at any of our 400 drinking water taps.

The kiosks will be similar to those used in WaterAid’s projects around the world which provide water to communities without access to safe drinking water. The water kiosks will feature photographs from each of the countries around the world where WaterAid work to provide sanitation and fresh drinking water. During the Festival, people will also be asked to pledge support for the campaign by writing a message on vinyl records that will decorate the kiosks.

The Festival recently travelled to Nepal with WaterAid to see their vital work there, and met Communications Officer, Mani Karmacharya, who will be travelling from Kathmandu to volunteer at the Festival for the first time.
