Glastonbury Festival 2013

Getting here by bike

In 2011, we were very pleased to announce the launch of some new initiatives to encourage Festival-goers to come to Glastonbury by bicycle, as part of our new Green Traveller campaign. As well as reducing their carbon footprint and avoiding being stuck in car traffic queues, anyone who arrived on their bike would get several rewards, including a free lock-up and an allocated campsite just for cyclists.

We even transported your luggage/camping gear to the Festival for you.

Plus, of course, like anyone arriving at the Festival by public transport, they got a Green Traveller card which gives discounts on food and T-shirts, as well as exclusive access to solar showers and compost toilets.

Those in Bristol or one of 30 towns within 20 miles of the site, were also able to join a guided ride and have their luggage delivered to the Festival. We teamed up with two organisations to offer a range of facilities to help people planning to cycle to Glastonbury. For more info, see below
